Saweetie seems far from Insecure…
I am ashamed to say that I haven’t watched a single episode of Insecure. What I can tell you is that I have overplayed one of the songs off of the first soundtrack for the show (“Insecure” by Jazmine Sullivan and Bryson Tiller). Today, a new track off the latest season’s soundtrack has hit streaming services: “Get It Girl” by Saweetie.

“Get It Girl” doesn’t make me want to watch Insecure. Don’t get me wrong, I respect the song’s Bay Area vibes, I just think that the song as a whole is a little cheesy (I’m not feeling the annoying hook or Saweetie’s predictable/simple-ass lyrics). I guess this is a song that is not supposed to be enjoyed…
With all due respect, I think that Saweetie might go down as one of the worst rappers of all time…
