Earl Sweatshirt Returns With “2010”

2010

Earl Sweatshirt

RGM RATING (????????)

This is Earl Sweatshirt’s first release since 2019.

There was a point in which I thought Earl Sweatshirt was a monster MC. Then he dropped that weird-ass album in which he sounded like he was struggling to ride beats (A lot of people liked that album, though). In “2010,” I feel like Earl goes back to reaching his potential.

Earl Sweatshirt actually rides this song’s smooth/bass booming beat really well. Let me repeat, EARL SWEATSHIRT RIDES THIS SONG’S SMOOTH/BASS BOOMING BEAT REALLY WELL! Aside from that, the former Odd Future member also drops witty, wisdom-filled, pompous, humble, and punchline-heavy bars in the song. All in all, I f**k with this joint a lot.

Earl Sweatshirt looks like a cornerback that is on the verge of getting cut with his thick dreads.
