RGM RATING (??????)

A song striking gold with inspiration.

New York-born and raised rapper, Bobby-G, is a fierce musical talent. His best aspect is using his skills to speak on the Black community’s daily struggles in the United States. He got his start in the Lower East Side at the Nuyorican Poets Café. This is a well-known performance space and LES staple that provides a stage for artists to perform. To this day, Bobby-G is still a regular at the Nuyorican Poets Café, performing during open mic nights. However, he also uses platforms like Spotify, Instagram, and YouTube to speak his truth virtually. Bobby-G’s newest release, “Chariots of Fire,” is the latest in a long line of his calls for justice, with a music video to match the intensity of the lyrics.

“Chariots of Fire” highlights the difficult relationship between the U.S. and Black Americans throughout history. In the song, Bobby-G uses descriptive language to evoke specific images in the minds of his audience. One of the most memorable moments in the track is his rap about Black Americans having scars due to the different forms of trauma that they have endured. Despite the serious topic, Bobby-G makes it clear that he is determined to help as many people in his community as possible in the chorus. Overall, “Chariots Of Fire” is uplifting, but also acknowledges reality. Bobby-G brought us a ride with “Chariots of Fire,” and we are willing to fly with him to fairness.
