RGM RATING (????????)

A soft rap song with western roots.

Efemena Paul Isume (also known as Yung Shrimp) is an artist, songwriter, and record producer from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Since 2019, he has written and produced several singles, as well as an EP. His entire discography is available on Spotify, YouTube, and Instagram. Yung Shrimp initially released “Cowboy Sawse” 2019; however, he remixed the song last year, which helped it gain more popularity. As of today, the remix has more plays than the original song.

“Cowboy Sawse” is powered by a hip-hop beat with western elements. The song begins with banjo licks paired with a neighing horse, making the image of a range and a cowboy hat immediately come to mind. As the song progresses, a baseline is added to make it more modern. Eventually Yung Shrimp, CG the GOAT, and Tommy Ice join the party, hitting us with raps that merge Western ideologies with today’s ideologies masterful. Overall, “Cowboy Sawse (Remix)” fits well with the music many young rappers are putting out these days. So, stream “Cowboy Sawse (Remix)” by Yung Shrimp today, and feel a little homesick for the western front.
