TheOdicy Undergo An “Automaton Phenomenon”

Automaton Phenomenon

TheOdicy

RGM RATING (????????)

A synth rock song with psychedelic tendancies and nostalgia.

The El Paso, Texas-based music group, TheOdicy, is an emerging rock band. They are made up of Stephen (producer, bassist, keyboardist, and musician) and Louie (musician, guitarist, and songwriter); these two are “sonic explorers of musical worlds.” With their love for creating, TheOdicy combines synth and rock for an “outlandish, and yet utterly human” sound. Whatever they say, though, this isn’t the type of music usually found on the charts. The song will release on all major platforms on the 24th of May. In the meantime, you can stream it on Bandcamp and SoundCloud. TheOdicy’s debut release is the rock single, “Automaton Phenomenon.”

Strangely, “Automaton Phenomenon” is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a mix of sounds that create an image of robots and weird occurences. Lyrics like “You’re always in the position to be validated. The jury’s out and I don’t believe you are satiated” and “Was I born to save or just to be a slave?” give us a captivating exploration. With that being said, TheOdicy delivers lines with a unique perspective; they investigate the human condition. It’s a synth rock hit with guitar; however, it also oddly gives us an otherworldly escape. This song sounds like something out of the psychedelic music age. There’s no telling where it leads from one moment to another, but it’s still a great journey to take. So, press play and let TheOdicy’s “Automaton Phenomenon” show itself off.
