Reason & Jay Rock Unite For “Is What It Is”

Is What It Is

Reason (Ft. Jay Rock)

Who’s TDE’s number one option now?

Now that Kendrick Lamar has decided to leave TDE in favor of pgLang, the label has to find its new 1A. While most would assume that ScHoolboy Q can easily slide into that role, I’m not sure he puts out enough music. Someone who I think could be a 1A for TDE is Reason. I feel like he reps the label well and embodies what it’s all about. Today, he decided to release “Is What It Is,” a track that highlights both his and his fellow labelmate’s MC skills.

“Is What It Is” is simply a good-ass rap song — you know, a rap song with meaningful lyrics, hella clever punchlines, sturdy flows, and a beat that is supposed to make the freestyler in you come out. I don’t know what it means in the grand scheme of things, but what I can tell you is this: I need more of these rap tracks injected into my veins.

INJECT THEM INTO MY VEINS!
