Lil Uzi Vert shows his true colors in “Red + White EP.”

3. F.F.
I was too dumb to play Final Fantasy when I was young, so I had to dock this song a point.
In “F.F.,” I feel like Lil Uzi Vert takes his experimenting, passion, and fearlessness to a new level. Throughout the song, he sounds like a black man in some medieval armory that was stabbed with a sword by his foe. Don’t worry, he still comes across as a rockstar lyrically.
2. I KNOW
This track falls directly in line with the music that Uzi was making when he had that damn diamond in his head.
“I KNOW” is a bouncy banger. Though Uzi relies on a numb tone for most of the song, I think he nails it when it comes to creating something catchy and effortlessly trill. As for lyrically, I love how he sticks his chest out like Janet, reminding us that he’s a woman-smashing/money-making figure that knows he’s the s**t.
1. GLOCK IN MY PURSE
Lil Uzi Vert is one of like two gangsta-ass rappers that can get away with saying that he rocks a purse (Young Thug is the other).
Of course “GLOCK IN MY PURSE” is the hottest song on this album! Uzi nails the robotic-sounding hook, his explanation for rocking a purse, and the flows that the fire-ass beat requested. I also like how he lowkey tackles America’s homophobic problem.

I feel like Lil Uzi Vert is one of the few artists that can shift to another gear whenever he wants to musically. In other words, when he’s focused and on, only a few can make songs that rival his. With that being said, I think this Red + White EP is practice for Lil Uzi Vert.
Red + White EP features a combination of bulls**t tracks and special ones. In the bulls**t tracks, Lil Uzi Vert throws a bunch of styles, melodies, and structures at us, seeing which one would stick. In the special tracks, I feel like he stacks on what he does well, focusing on the intricate details more. All in all, I think Uzi’s polishing of old styles and leap into new styles will bold well for his new album. Though I gave this project a C, I do really like the songs that are good.
Quincy is the creator of Ratings Game Music. He loves writing about music, taking long walks on beaches, and spaghetti that fights him back.

So you’re just going to ignore their pronouns?? They/them
Issa Hit at a 2/5 is wild. I could see a 3/5 but a two is kinda crazy. Same thing with cigarette. Maybe it is because looking back this album grows on you but there is no skips on this album. It is a bunch of throwaways so it has me really excited that this EP of throwaways was actually full of great songs, Uzi’s next album is going to be really good.
I definitely have to listen to it again. I feel like Uzi’s music is one that grows on you.
Thanks for the heads up!
