This is Rihanna’s second release of the year (Whoa, she’s rolling right now).
Rihanna doesn’t need to make music anymore, she is already goated in every single way. At this point, I feel like she’s simply feeding her fans new music just because. With that being said, I was very impressed with Rihanna’s last single, “Lift Me Up,.” In the track, Rihanna reminds us that she can sing with the best of them. Today, the Barbados singer decided to return to the music scene with “Born Again,” yet another emotional track in which she shines as a pure singer.
In a recent interview, Tems, the person who co-wrote this song with Rihanna, said that “Born Again” is a tribute to Chadwick Boseman. She also said the following about the song:
“I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life.”
The Nigerian singer also took some time to praise Rihanna in her interview:
“I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me, so hearing her convey this song is a great honor.”
