2022 has been a very productive year for Ab-Soul.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Ab-Soul doesn’t release enough music. It’s been six years since the 35-year-old rapper released an album. All that will change soon, as Ab recently announced that he will drop a brand-new project called Herbert very soon. One of the songs that you might hear on it is “Gang’Nem” with Fre$h.

“Gang’Nem” is powered by one of the most sluggish beats I’ve ever heard. That s**t literally sounds like it’s sinking in quicksand. Both Ab-Soul and Fre$h acquiesce to the beat by hitting us with sluggish deliveries. As for lyrically, in their verses, the two rappers talk about everything from staying loyal to the people that they came up with to making it big after being labeled underdogs. Once you understand the song’s unorthodox rhythm, you will enjoy it.
