Are you ready for Fast X, the tenth installment in the Fast Saga? I’m not (The last Fast movie I watched was The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift). However, my job as a music reviewer is to get you hyped up for the movie’s soundtrack. Today, the first single from it, “Let’s Ride” with YG, Ty Dolla $ign, and Lambo4oe, hit streaming services.
“Let’s Ride” boasts a flipped version of the beat that powers Biggie and Bone Thug-N-Harmony’s “Notorious Thugs.” Over it, Ty Dolla $ign hits us with an infectious melodic hook that is all about loyalty, YG hits us with a sly-ass verse that has him sounding like the realest dude on the block, and Lambo40e hits us with a verse that is all about impressing chicks by having them ride in extravagant cars. What I love about the track is that it features three distinct styles that blend very well.
Fun fact: Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is one of the few musical acts to do a song with both Tupac and Biggie.
