Myself

Kali Sade

An R&B single that encourages us to embrace our unique selves.

Milledgeville, Georgia-based musical creative, Kali Sade, is a singer and songwriter who has gained major exposure as a teen musician. The inspiration for Sade’s tunes comes from a blend of traditional R&B and hip-hop; these come with a strong focus on “music with bass-heavy beats that was popular with southern hip-hop artists of the 90s and 2000s.” Iconic artists like 2Pac, Lauryn Hill, and Bryson Tiller have impacted her the most artistically. Sade’s discography is available on Spotify, YouTube, and SoundCloud. Her latest drop is the R&B single “Myself.”

“Myself” digs deep into whether we really need someone else to get through life. Lyrics like “Truth is, I just need myself, nobody else but me” and “There’s gonna be some days when the sun don’t shine the same, but I keep on going” encourage us to embrace our uniqueness and find strength within ourselves. Clearly, Sade thinks we can be amazing all by our lonesome. Ultimately, it should be us, on our own terms, making ourselves great and unique for our own reasons. So, press play below to soak up all the inspirational elements of “Myself” for yourself.
