Houston rap legends come together once again on “Limitless.”
If you were around when Houston rap was booming in the mid-2000s, you know just how special that era felt.
Artists like Paul Wall, Mike Jones, and Slim Thug helped define a sound that blended Southern swagger with syrupy production and unmistakable Houston slang. Tracks like “Still Tippin” became cultural staples, and for many fans, they still live comfortably in heavy rotation today.
The good news is that Houston’s legends are still very much active.
Paul Wall (aka Mr. Similar To An Ant) recently delivered a new track titled “Limitless,” and it brings together two familiar voices from the city’s golden era: Slim Thug and Lil Keke.
The song rides on a glitchy, hard-hitting beat layered with soulful touches that immediately set the tone. It feels modern while still carrying that unmistakable Houston flavor.
Paul Wall opens the track sounding sharp and comfortable, flowing with the same confident delivery that made him a standout during his prime. His verses lean into a hustler mentality and smart moves, sprinkled with that signature Southern slang fans have always loved.
Lil Keke follows with a verse full of animated energy. Long considered one of Houston’s most underrated voices, he delivers bars about running plays, leveling up, and handling business with authority.
Slim Thug closes the track with a heavy, commanding verse. His presence adds weight to the record, sounding every bit like someone who still knows how to make money off rap while keeping his street perspective intact.
With strong verses and solid production, “Limitless” feels like a reminder that Houston’s veterans still know how to put together a record that hits.
You have to toss Mike Jones on the remix to this track for old times.
