Devil’s Work 2
Joyner Lucas
Joyner Lucas is a G for working with the devil twice.
There are a bunch of tracks from Joyner Lucas’ first studio album, ADHD, that I like a lot. Though my favorite is “Broke & Stupid,” I think “Devil’s Work” might be his most explosive. Today, Joyner decided to return to the music scene with “Devil’s Work 2,” yet another track in which he asks the LORD why he took certain people.

One of the things that bothered me about “Devil’s Work” was how Joyner Lucas wished certain people would die over others. In “Devil’s Work 2,” he doesn’t do that much; instead, he keeps it real about the deaths of some of hip-hop’s finest such as Pop Smoke, DMX, Juice WRLD, Takeoff, Trouble, and more. He also wishes Tory Lanez never shot Megan Thee Stallion in the foot, Chris Rock and Will Smith handled their differences differently, and Kanye didn’t lose his mother. Unlike its predecessor, “Devil’s Work 2” is pretty gentle; it features a touching beat and subdued deliveries from Joyner.
I swear, GOD be sending some of y’all to his voicemail…
