Nothing Left (Lonely Song)
Fernie
An R&B tune that tackles the lingering feelings for an ex-lover.
Brazilian-Canadian musical creative, Fernie, is a multi-talented artist who started solo and went to a bigger group. With plenty of passion for his work, the Montreal native’s unique background “shines through his vulnerable lyrics and powerful melodies.” Fernie decided to share his creations with others in 2015 with the self-written and produced The Acoustic EP, which he released on Soundcloud. Currently, the singer is part of a Montreal collective known as KIDS FROM THE UNDERGROUND. The artist’s “eclectic sound” continues to evolve as he pursues his musical journey. His discography is available on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music. Fernie’s latest drop is the R&B single “Nothing Left (Lonely Song).”
Soft and soothing vibrations create a melody that is ultimately meditative. While “Nothing Left (Lonely Song)” sounds intense, it’s soft enough to make it into the calm playlist. Lyrics like “Hold on / To things that are written / I just / Don’t want to erase them” and “We go our separate paths / And I’m still hung up on our past / So let me hold you in my arms / One last time” reminisces on a past relationship and lingering feelings for an ex. Fernie vulnerably reflects on the pain that comes with letting go of the past. He also reminds us that there are bigger and better things waiting for us. So, press play on Fernie’s new single to experience what it’s like to have “Nothing Left.”
