“Like A God” & “False Prophets”

The Weeknd

Lil Baby is featured on “False Prophets.”

I still haven’t watched a single episode of The Weeknd’s The Idol series. Not because I’m uninterested in watching it, but because my fat-ass has not been able to find the remote for weeks (Those damn Apple TV remotes are smaller than a b*tch). What people have been saying about the show is that it’s creepy, bizarre, and troubling. These are the same people that praised the Dahmer series, BTW. Anywho, for every episode that has come out, The Weeknd has gifted us with at least one new song. After releasing episode 5, he decided to gift us with TWO new songs: “Like A God” and “False Prophets.”

“Like A God” has this spellbinding, soul-clenching instrumental that will certainly make your mind wander. As for The Weeknd, he hits us with these hypnotizing vocals that pair perfectly with his army drill-like lyrics. I think this is another masterpiece; one that you won’t get out of your head anytime soon.

Who told Lil Baby to rap like the rent is due in “False Idols?” Even though the song boasts chilling, atmospheric production that is supposed to excite nerds that play RPG games, you get nothing but hard-hitting bars out of the Atlanta rapper. In his verses, he actually talks about his gun, his ‘Raris, and his come-up. The Weeknd also gifts us one of his hardest verses in a while, too. Not only does he hit us with rap flows, but he also comes across like that asshole we’ve all come to love lyrically. It’s actually Suzanna Son that fits the song’s tone the best.

The Weeknd is dropping some of his best music with this soundtrack.
