Drake Teases “For All The Dogs” With “8AM In Charlotte”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

What the hell is Drake doing in Charlotte at 8 a.m.?

October 5 might be the greatest day in the history of life. Today, all your favorite sports will be on, horror movies will be playing on various channels, and the weather will be all cozy and s**t. Oh yeah, and Drake will release his highly-anticipated For All The Dogs album at midnight. While he’s been pretty quiet about the content that will be on it, last night, while we were all asleep, the Take Care artist dropped a new single off the project: “8am In Charlotte.”

Drake drops fire whenever he is in a random city early in the morning. This time, he’s in Charlotte right after brushing his teeth. In “8AM In Charlotte,” Drake does some of the coldest trash-talking I’ve ever heard through effortlessly steady flows and clever punchlines such as “Where I go, you go, brother, we Yugoslavian, Formal is the dress code, dawg, so many checks owed I feel Czechoslovakian” and “I swear I’m like a young T.D. Jakes to my menaces, Long-kiss goodnight, PDA for my nemesis.” Drake sounds as untouchable as your momma on this song.

These songs are never my favorite from Drake’s albums, but they always hit.
