Yung Miami Tests Her Solo Run With “Tea Time”

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Yung Miami drops a confident but uneven solo anthem.

I do not want to jinx anything, but it feels like we are far removed from the days when City Girls were consistently dropping major hits. While I am still interested in seeing the duo work together, both JT and Yung Miami seem to have something to prove as solo artists. With that in mind, Yung Miami decided to add to her solo catalog with a new single titled “Tea Time.”

The production on “Tea Time” leans into booming bass and crisp claps that would make a stripper do some s**t that will have them looking more athletic than prime LeBron James. As for Yung Miami, she delivers braggadocious bars about leveling up and staying true to herself, which she’s never had trouble doing. Her confidence is undeniable, but the beat lacks a bit of punch, and her performance could benefit from tighter control.

Even with its flaws, it is refreshing to hear Yung Miami stepping out on her own and continuing to build her solo presence. Whether this marks a defining moment remains to be seen, but it is another step in carving out her individual lane.
