Yebba Finally Drops “Waterfall (I Adore You)”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The Drake gets what he wants!

Happy belated birthday to Drake! He recently celebrated his 37th birthday. While I’m sure he received some impressive birthday gifts, one that may have been shared with the world is the full version of Yebba’s “Waterfall (I Adore You)” track. It’s worth noting that this is her first official single of 2023, and it appears she wasn’t originally planning to release it.

If you recall, Drake gave Yebba the outro to “Polar Opposite” from For All The Dogs. In it, Yebba says the phrase, “Baby, I adore you.” In “Waterfall (I Adore You),” you get a chance to hear why she loves this particular person. Her lyrics are beautifully poetic, her vocals are incredibly soothing and pure, and the production she chose for the track carries a pleasant tempo and therapeutic qualities. It’s evident why Drake was eager to share the full version of this song with the world.

When Drake eventually decides to retire from his music career, he should consider transitioning into an A&R role. His exceptional talent-spotting ability is undeniable. Just think about it: he has brought talented artists like Yebba, Jorja Smith, Giveon, The Weeknd, and Sampha into the spotlight.
