I understand that Sexyy Red’s style may not resonate with everyone. She’s ratchet, provocative, and someone who probably cooks with lard. Nevertheless, in the diverse landscape of America, it’s a testament to freedom that individuals like her can have a platform for self-expression (I’m looking for the silver lining here). Today, Sexyy Red dropped a new single titled “Free My N***a.”
Honestly, this song is bad, but its premise is pretty intriguing. In “Free My N***a,” Sexyy Redd lets listeners know that she is missing her baby daddy, who is currently in jail. She mentions what she wants to do to him when he gets out and how much she hates 12 for putting him in there. At the end of the day, though, I think it’s impossible to ignore how bad the hook is and how basic her raps sound. The song as a whole feels like a skit from a bootleg SNL show (Not even the actual show, a bootleg version of the show).
Sexyy Redd is making more money than every single one of your family members that you kicked it with on Thanksgiving Day. That’s how amazing America is.
