Saucy confessional lyrics and hardcore rock make a triumphant return in Layul’s latest single.

Layul has recently returned with his second release of the year, the single “New Jersey.”

Layul’s disdain for New Jersey is palpable, and who can blame him? In his latest track, he channels the pain of a heartbreak experienced in the Garden State, infusing the song with raw emotion. Bringing a fresh perspective to the resurging emo genre, Layul combines relatable storytelling with a robust hip-hop flow. The track features lyrics that demand to be shouted, such as “I hate flowers anyways, they only come up when it rains” and “Fuck New Jersey, I hate that place, said she’s from the Garden State.” Layul has crafted a new heartbreak anthem that defiantly tells your ex in New Jersey to take a back seat. If you’re from the Garden State, take it with a grain of salt and give Layul’s latest single a listen below.
