Chase Martin’s old soul continues to reign supreme.
Chase Martin might be young, but he embraces a version of hip-hop that grown folks love. Since emerging on the scene around 2018, he’s been putting out nothing but hard-hitting bangers. Recently. Chase released an album called “2001.” In it, he f**ks with a bunch of soulful hip-hop beats that I rock with. One of the tracks from the project that deserves your attention is “Do The Math.”
The math maths correctly in “Do The Math.” In the song, which is driven by this old-school beat that will give you Good Times vibes, Chase raps about lapping his field, his goal to never change, and his willingness to school those who aren’t as successful as him. Ultimately, he lets the world know that he’s operating on the same 24-hour schedule as everyone else, so there shouldn’t be an excuse to not get wins. What I absolutely love is how Chase balances sounding competitive as hell and pretty laidback, proving to me that he’s in a good place when it comes to his musical journey.
If you f**k with old-school hip-hop, you need to press play on “2001.” If you only have two minutes to spare, give “Do The Math” a shot below.
