Playboi Carti is on one today.

It’s looking more and more like Playboi Carti is going to have a major 2024. Not only is he planning on dropping a new album called I Am Music in January, but he will also be going on tour. While he was relatively quiet in 2023, Playboi has decided to get us comfortable with his numerous sounds today by dropping two singles: “UR THE MOON” and “2024.” Below, I will talk about the latter.

I personally believe the best thing about “2024” is the beat, which is produced by Kanye West, earlonthebeat, and ojivolta. That s**t has some serious bass, but at the same time, an intergalactic feel that would make you want to hijack a spaceship. As for Playboi Carti, he meets the beat at the rim the only way he can: By relying on two different voices (A high-pitched one and a deep, normal-sounding one), by hitting us with a few catchy moments, and by speaking on his devilish, competitive, rich ways. I definitely think he slides in the song; maybe a little too much, though.
