Latto and Luh Tyler stand out as two of the most promising rookies in hip-hop this year. With their youth, undeniable bangers, and distinctiveness, they’ve carved a niche in a way that sets them apart from many others. As they consistently shine, their respective legends only continue to grow.

Among my favorite Latto singles is Jung Kook’s “Seven” track, a sentiment shared by many, given its achievement as the fastest song to reach one billion streams in Spotify history. Additionally, Latto delivered other scorching singles this year, including “Put It On Da Floor Again” with Cardi B and “Lottery” with LU KALA. On the Luh Tyler front, tracks like “Black Flippin” and “First Show” have provided compelling reasons for people to believe in his potential.

Luh Tyler and Latto recently teamed up for a fresh collaboration titled “The Grinch Freestyle,” dropping just in time for the Christmas weekend. However, contrary to typical Christmas-themed tracks, this song doesn’t quite embody the holiday spirit. In my perspective, it resembles another remix of Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor.” The track boasts competitive, raw, and explicit lyrics, delivered with intense aggression from Latto and clever slyness from Luh Tyler. To make a long story short, this song is for those of y’all that like to go to the club on Christmas day.

Honestly, I am surprised at how similar Luh Tyler and Latto sound. They definitely should think about doing a collaboration album together.
