24kGoldn Has “Good Intentions”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Y’all need to stop sleeping on 24kGoldn. He consistently delivers high-quality singles and albums, yet he doesn’t get talked about by hip-hop fans much. Perhaps this is because he leans towards the pop-rap genre, which unfortunately tends to receive less praise. However, it’s essential to acknowledge that 24k’s streaming numbers remain notably impressive, reflecting the ongoing support and interest from his dedicated fanbase.

2024 was a low-key year for 24kGoldn, as he released a handful of singles sporadically, without a major album. However, I anticipate a shift in 2024. Over the weekend, the California native made a comeback to the music scene with his latest single, “Good Intentions.”

“Good Intentions” stands out as 24kGoldn’s most profound record yet. The song delves into themes of personal struggles, self-awareness, and the ramifications of fame. While 24k maintains a subtle melody throughout, there’s a raw authenticity in his delivery that complements both the lyrical content and the atmospheric, mesmerizing beat that never fully unfolds. Fans expecting 24k’s signature bubbly hip-pop s**t should be aware that “Good Intentions” deviates from that style.

Fame stinks, doesn’t it?
