Don Toliver Taps Into Thriller Mode on “Creepin”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Don Toliver brings moody melodies to the ‘Scream 7’ soundtrack with the catchy but not groundbreaking “Creepin.”

Do you know what is spooky? How quickly Don Toliver has become a number one option in the game. After first emerging as Travis Scott’s understudy, he has completely taken off. His latest project, OCTANE, recently soared to the top of the Billboard 200. Now he is stepping into movie money territory, teaming up with Scream 7 for a new soundtrack single titled “Creepin.”

“Creepin” is powered by a somewhat spooky and slightly underwhelming beat that lacks a bit of punch but features synths that truly shine. The production sets a dark atmosphere, even if it does not fully explode the way you might hope. It feels cinematic, fitting for a horror franchise, but it never quite reaches a thrilling peak.

As for Don Toliver, he leans into his slick melodic rap style, gliding over the production with ease. He delivers a catchy chorus and lyrics that paint him as someone walking the line between a smooth operator and a menace. The track is undeniably catchy, even if it does not feel particularly groundbreaking.

When you start making that soundtrack money, watch tf out!
