When I tell you that I can’t wait for Benny The Butcher to drop his new album, I mean that times two. His last one, Burden Of Proof, which was released in 2020, is one of my favorite hip-hop albums of the past couple of years.
Benny The Butcher has dropped his fair share of bangers to get us excited for his forthcoming project. In November, he released “Big Dog” with Lil Wayne; in December, he released “One Foot In” with Stove God Cooks. Benny’s latest single, “BRON,” is a solo one, but it’s still great.
As anticipated, “BRON” is as grandiose as a rap track can get. The song is powered by this hard-hitting, action-packed Hit-Boy beat that I would prefer to hear in a palace or church in Egypt. Sounding relaxed but also ready for smoke, Benny shines over the beat, hitting us with bars that speak of his impressive come-up and the love he gets from his city. The biggest things that will catch your attention about the song are how choppy Benny’s flows are and how he repeatedly uses the same rhyme pattern.
Benny The Butcher might end up releasing the album of the year this year.
