Lil Tjay Comes Through With Another Struggle Anthem, “Told Ya”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Lil Tjay’s music reflects his struggles, and he is well-qualified to create such content. Coming from the streets and surviving a near-death experience, he has overcome challenges and built his career through hard work and determination.

It’s impressive to see Lil Tjay make a strong comeback to the music scene after recovering from gunshot wounds. Following the release of the powerful “222” and various features on singles, the New York native doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Today, he decided to drop a brand new single titled “Told Ya.”

In “Told Ya,” Lil Tjay talks about the demons he’s facing, being one of a kind, having haters, and overcoming odds. For about half of the song, Tjay relies on this numb rap style that actually complements the dramatic beat pretty well. Towards the end, we get to hear him turn things up a notch as he morphs into a drill Michael Jackson vocally. All in all, “Told Ya” falls directly in line with what you’re used to hearing from the 22-year-old.

I will never ever get tired of Tjay’s whining, bro.
