Regardless of opinions about NBA YoungBoy, his work ethic is undeniable. Over the past five years, he has consistently released an extensive catalog of music, showcasing a relentless commitment to his craft. While his prolific output is notable, it’s interesting that he hasn’t dropped as many singles so far this year (Trust me, even though it’s only February, he should have had at least five new projects out by now). Nonetheless, he returned to the music scene with the latest track, “BNYX Da Reaper.”
In “BNYX Da Reaper,” NBA YoungBoy explores familiar themes, touching on topics such as violence, making major boss moves, slaying women, and driving cars you and I can’t afford. One change I did notice is that he isn’t as descriptive with his violence as before. Instead of delving into specifics, he mentions his intentions of killing us and then swiftly moves on.
If you’re familiar with the beat in this song, it’s from Quavo’s Rocket Power album (specifically, the song “Who Wit Me”). While NBA YoungBoy may not have topped (no pun intended) Quavo’s performance on the beat, I appreciate the Yeat-like flows and laidback tone he brought to it.
How many albums do you think NBA YoungBoy will drop this year? My guess is at least 10.
