A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is still Hoodieing, even though he isn’t as much of a household name these days. In ALONE, his latest project, he sounds like his old self. Unfortunately, the EP only has four tracks.
The opening track of ALONE is “Tiffany,” presenting a vulnerable side of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. His emotional delivery reflects struggles with relationships and mental health. While the emotional production resonates, I find his flow in the track somewhat messy for my taste.
My favorite track on ALONE is probably “No More Questions.” I like the pep to his step that A Boogie raps with, in addition to how he keeps it honest and trill with his movement. I will say that the song has a bit of an outdated feel for sure.
The EP closes with “How To Love” and “D.T.N.” “How To Love” confronts A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s relationship issues head-on, questioning his partner’s lack of affection. He delivers his bars smoothly yet passionately. “D.T.N.” continues the emotional tone of the project, offering honest lyrics, heartfelt vibes, and powerful vocals.
Honestly, if you skip this EP, you won’t miss much.
