YG Returns With “KNOCKA”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

When it comes to California rappers of today, YG’s name undoubtedly comes to mind. He’s crafted a few classic records and collaborated with nearly every major artist in the US, save for Jay-Z. While I wouldn’t mind if he decided to retire tomorrow, it’s worth noting that he’s still in his 30s and has the potential to extend his prime. With his latest single “KNOCKAS,” YG seems reenergized and ready to make his mark once again in the music scene.

One consistent trait of YG is his boldness and creativity in his deliveries, and he pushes both to the max in “KNOCKA.” Over a booming beat with a unique opera-like sample in the background, YG showcases his intricate and consistent flow, touching on killing both vaginas and rivalries. He also reminds us that he’s getting just as much money as you know who. What stands out most about the track is how YG blends a variety of sounds in a way that’s truly innovative.

YG is the definition of a negro who doesn’t give a f**k about s**t.
