TMack raps masterfully in this short but sweet EP.
TMack is another standout hip-hop artist from Memphis, known not only for his rap skills but also for his talents as a producer and engineer. What truly sets him apart is his authenticity on the mic, where he speaks candidly about his growth and life lessons. With impressive industry experience, TMack was mentored early on by the legendary duo 8Ball and MJG and played a key role in engineering one of Young Dolph’s first mixtapes, Welcome to Dolph World. His own catalog is packed with numerous mixtapes and popular singles. Now, he’s back with a new three-track EP titled Light Years.
The EP starts with “Focused,” where TMack highlights his concentration on excelling in various aspects of life, particularly in the booth, maintaining a stylish appearance, and pursuing financial success. He also underscores the importance of living life to the fullest, acknowledging its unpredictability. What truly stands out about “Focused” is the soulful production, which perfectly complements TMack’s carefree lyrics and laid-back rap style.
“Real Life” is perhaps my favorite track on this album. First and foremost, I love the track’s booming, youthful production. Secondly, I appreciate how TMack keeps it real in both his verses and the chorus. Using a confident tone and steady flow, he effectively speaks on his rough come-up and how it has molded him into the person he is today. This track truly stands out as a highlight on the album.
The Light Years EP ends with the unique track “25 Hours.” In it, TMack employs his most impressive flow on the project, which sounds great over the sly, thumping production. Lyrically, TMack talks about all the things he would do if he had 25 hours in a day, from watching Martin for hours to grinding to make a better life for himself. The icing on the cake is the soulful contributions from the featured guest, adding a rich layer to the track.
Stay tuned for the release of the Light Years EP, set to drop on June 6th. You can Pre-Sav it HERE.
