Juelz Santana Releases “Score”

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Is Juelz Santana like that in basketball?

Fun fact: Juelz Santana was once my favorite rapper. In his prime, he could spit with the best of them and had an appeal similar to Lil Wayne. Unfortunately, due to label and legal issues, Juelz’s prime was shorter than JJ Redick’s career as a broadcaster.

The good news is that Juelz Santana is still making music. Today, his new single, “Score,” hit streaming services.

In “Score,” Juelz Santana clarifies that he is winning at life, no matter what his naysayers say. Throughout the track, he relies on several basketball references to speak on everything from his come-up to his knack for stacking money, his abundance of bling, and his competitive mindset.

I do not love how this track sounds. The drill beat that powers it feels a little cheap, the hook lacks power, and the rap flows are outdated. However, Juelz’s spirit still sounds fresh.

Give “Score” a shot below.
