TOP 5
5. Crash
The word “crash” can mean something completely bad or something completely good. In this track, it means something good.
In “Crash,” Kehlani talks about wanting their and their partner’s mind, body, and soul to converge in a place they consider paradise, which is probably their bedroom or a hotel room with a city view. Though this isn’t a track I see myself going back to a few days from now, I do think it’s hella impressive. In it, we get a truly passionate and magical vocal performance by Kehlani, topped off with a slow-tempo, extra-intoxicating backdrop. It’s the kind of performance that could win American Idol.
4. Vegas
I always laugh when people say, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” B*tch, why did Vegas police make my criminal record public, then?
“Vegas” sounds totally liberating. First and foremost, the track boasts this eccentric, trippy instrumental that might f**k around and make you feel high or dizzy. Over it, Kehlani delivers this unfiltered vocal performance that has them sounding like Post Malone and someone completely lost in love. As for lyrically, Kehlani comes across as a daredevil who is down to entertain a FANGirl (A freak-ass negro girl).
Songs like this will hit even harder for single people.
3. Lose My Wife
A song dedicated to those who push their partners to the edge.
“Lose My Wife” is my top pick from this album. The song delves into Kehlani’s struggles, contemplating actions that could jeopardize their relationship. They acknowledge the power of small gestures, realizing that by doing something their wife appreciates, they can mend their bond swiftly. Kehlani’s vocal performance shines brightly on this track, particularly when paired with the acoustic instrumentation.
2. What I Want
Kehlani wants something that they already have.
In “What I Want,” Kehlani lets us know what they want out of a chick that they are dating. They bring up wanting everything from flowers to fire vajayjay. What’s hella interesting is that Kehlani comes across as someone who wants to be spoiled and do some tricking.
I absolutely love the swag that Kehlani sings with in this track. While there are moments in the track where they bless us with angelic and passionate vocals, there are also moments when they come across as Thugger, which I f**king love. Their contributions especially sound great over the energetic production.
1. After Hours
I’m so down with Kehlani making fun tracks like this.
For Nina Sky fans, “After Hours” by Kehlani is a treat you won’t want to miss. For those unfamiliar with Nina Sky, they’re a duo known for hits like “Move Ya Body,” released back in 2004. Fast forward 20 years, and Kehlani pays homage to that iconic track with their own spin in “After Hours.”
With upbeat rhythms, seductive lyrics, and passionate vocals, Kehlani brings a colorful and bombastic energy to the familiar beat of “Move Ya Body.” The song’s vibes are spot-on, and the melodies are undeniably amazing.

Kehlani is such a free-spirit these days. This has allowed them to reach their potential as an artist.
The album’s production showcases remarkable versatility. Each track on CRASH exudes captivating energy that demands attention. The range of vibes is impressive, spanning lively party beats to subtle hip-hop undertones and mesmerizing melodies. Kehlani effortlessly navigates these diverse sounds, seamlessly transitioning between styles with a bold and unpredictable flair that keeps listeners engaged throughout.
Kehlani has long been a trailblazer in mainstream music for their unabashed portrayal of their bisexuality. This authenticity remains steadfast in their latest release, CRASH, where they openly explore their romantic and intimate connections with women, embodying assertive and vulnerable roles. This balanced expression reflects a natural and empowering approach to living their truth.
Can we please never forget how good of an artist Kehlani is again?
