The Game should’ve been on that stage on Wednesday.
Wednesday marked one of the most remarkable days in hip-hop history. Taking center stage at the Kia Forum, Kendrick Lamar brought together a host of LA rappers for an unforgettable concert. From Tyler, The Creator’s stellar rendition of “EARFQUAKE” to the long-awaited reunion of The Black Hippy crew, the event undeniably lived up to its hype.
Among the distinguished hip-hop figures in attendance at the show, one notable absence was The Game. Speculation abounds regarding his no-show, with some suggesting it was a gesture of support for his friend Drake, who faced significant criticism during the event.
Yesterday, Chuck Taylor hopped on IG Live to address his stance on various matters concerning Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and everything in between. During the session, he commended Kendrick for delivering an outstanding show, affirmed his continued camaraderie with Dr. Dre, and asserted his influence in LA. Furthermore, he expressed his loyalty to Drake, emphasizing the latter’s longstanding support over the years.
The Game gets things off his chest regarding Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and his LA Ties
Though The Game does a lot of s**t that I don’t agree with, I respect the f**k out of his stance here. He believes in loyalty over everything, and apparently, Drake has been very loyal to him, so he’s going to show that loyalty back. That might explain why he randomly dissed Rick Ross recently. At the same time, I’m someone who believes West Coast rap was heavily impacted by The Game’s success, and the fact that he wasn’t able to be on that stage on Wednesday was a borderline travesty. Hopefully, Kendrick will do another “Pop Out” concert that The Game can be a major part of.
How do you feel? Do you commend The Game for being loyal to his friend Drake, or do you think his loyalty should be to where he’s from? Let us know in the comments below.
