The Kid LAROI proves he could’ve thrived in the early 2000s.
The Kid LAROI is one of my favorite artists today. I love his versatility and carefree approach to talking about love and heartbreak. I am also very happy he cut his hair and is no longer rocking the 2005 Steve Nash look.
A few months ago, The Kid LAROI released his debut studio album, THE FIRST TIME. I don’t love it, but I do feel like it showcases his musical skills. Last Friday, LAROI returned to the music scene with a new single called “GIRLS,” and it showcases his love for old-school hip-hop tunes.
If I take this track back to 2001 via my handy time machine, nobody will feel confused when I play it. “GIRLS” boasts a classic The Neptunes-like beat that artists like Clipse used to dominate. Over it, The Kid LAROI delivers a versatile performance with slick, passionate, and angelic vocals. Lyrically, he talks about living in the moment with girls who want to live life on the edge. Personally, I believe LAROI killed this s**t.
The Kid LAROI is so good.
