T.I. has had a helluva career.
T.I.’s upcoming album Kill The King arrives on June 26, and all signs point to it being his final project.
That alone makes this release noteworthy. The album is his first since The L.I.B.R.A., which dropped back in 2020. While that project featured a respectable lineup that included Young Thug, Jeremih, Mozzy, and Snoop Dogg, along with songs like “Pardon” and “Ring,” it isn’t an album often mentioned when discussing T.I.’s best work.
Since then, T.I. has gone through a number of changes. He’s adopted a new look, pursued stand-up comedy more aggressively, and spent time trading shots with 50 Cent in an increasingly hostile feud.
Leading into Kill The King, T.I. has released several records to generate momentum. The standout among them has been “LET ‘EM KNOW,” a song that showed he still has plenty left in the tank when it comes to commanding a record.
Whether this is truly the end remains to be seen, but the possibility adds significance to the release. T.I. helped define an era of Southern hip-hop and built one of the strongest catalogs in rap history. If Kill The King is his farewell, expectations are naturally going to be high.
