Spongebob and Patrick let the slime flow at the Kids Choice Awards this weekend.
The Orange Carpet was rolled out this Saturday for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, hosted by SpongeBob and Patrick (I told you they’re real!), and as per tradition, there was plenty of slime.
When it comes to getting the most blimps, Taylor Swift flew in with a trio of awards: Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Global Music Star, and Ticket of the Year for her ‘Eras Tour.’ Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, also took home a blimp for Favorite Male Sports Star.
Olivia Rodrigo also scored big with her GUTS album winning Favorite Album, and High School Musical: The Series-winning her Favorite Female TV Star.
Additionally, Imagine Dragons won Favorite Music Group, Post Malone scored Favorite Male Artist, and Billie Eilish became a jellyfish when winning for Favorite Song with ‘What Was I Made For?’

Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice took home the award for Favorite Music Collaboration with ‘Barbie World,’ which I wholeheartedly agree with. Reneé Rapp and Sabrina Carpenter also secured wins: Reneé Rapp as Favorite Breakout Artist and Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Espresso’ as Favorite Viral Song.
The music was flowing, not just with the awards that night. Paul Russell performed his hit ‘Lil Boo Thang,’ and Jelly Roll got slimed by a giant straw while attempting to reveal the award for Favorite Female Voice. Although he lost the award for Favorite Breakout Artist, he was still honored. On Instagram, he shared, ‘I took those losses privately so God could heal my inner child publicly.’
I used to watch the Kids’ Choice Awards every year when I was a kid, starting from the 2007 one up until 2013 when I started to lose interest. I still love Nickelodeon and Spongebob a ton, and I’m happy to see the event going strong and thriving. The kids need a voice too!
My name is Josie! Lover of music, video games, and other silly stuff. I also own too many plushies.
