Big O, Cosm & C.O.N-Vers Make The Perfect Trio In “Vernissage”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Big O’s chemistry with Cosm & C.O.N-Vers is outstanding.

Big O’s beats deserve chef kisses. Hailing from Birmingham, AL but now based in London, O is a master at crafting beats that have strong old-school hip-hop elements. At the same time, he incorporates chill elements such as atmospheric vibes or jazz feels, letting you know that he’s more than just a dude who puts together drums. His ability to blend these styles seamlessly sets him apart in the hip-hop scene.

What I love is that Big O works with individuals with whom he has a great rapport. Hey, when you have chemistry with people, you should definitely tap into that. Two individuals Big O has worked with over the past few years are Cosm and C.O.N-Vers. Both are assertive rappers from the UK who specialize in great lyricism and top-of-the-line flows.

Recently, Big O, Cosm, and C.O.N.-Vers came together for a new EP called Vernissage. As expected, the project doesn’t disappoint.

“Your Ends To Mine” starts this project off with a bang—literally. The song is driven by a hard-hitting, old-school-sounding hip-hop beat that will give your speakers mad body blows. Over it, Cosm and C.O.N-Vers use relentless flows, unbelievable punchlines, and astute wordplay to speak on their resilient ways and laser focus on keeping it real. To be completely honest, some of the comparisons, names, and things they say went over my head. However, I did think the chorus was catchy enough for even slow-asses like me to appreciate.

I implore you to freestyle over the “Your Ends To Mine” instrumental. It’s phenomenal.

Big O and company slow things down with “Life Comes at You Fast.” The track features a soulful, extra-gentle instrumental that should calm your nerves with ease. However, if you’ve listened to Griselda these past few years, you know that doesn’t stop rappers from going in. That said, in their respective verses, Cosm and C.O.N-Vers keep the hefty bars coming. Using a gentler tone than in the previous track, the two rappers rely on tricky and steady flows and picture-perfect verbiage to reflect on their come-ups and hardships, while also explaining what motivates them today.

I might play the “Life Comes at You Fast” instrumental when I want to hear some therapeutic music. It’s incredibly comforting.

Big O’s versatility is displayed in full force here, as are C.O.N-Vers and Cosm’s unbelievable rap skills.
