3. She Knows

This might be the most energized you’ll ever hear Lil Mosey.

In “She Knows,” Lil Mosey indulges in a relationship with someone who has a nice body and is down to explore with him. What’s even cooler about the relationship is that Mosey has been introducing her to lavish s**t, including exclusive flights and Raris.

The vibe attached to “She Knows” is undeniably catchy. With its island-infused rhythm, it’s the kind of track that can easily get your girl moving. Lil Mosey’s melodic raps flow effortlessly over the backdrop, delivering a passionate performance that fits the mood perfectly (even if he still sounds like he could use some coffee).

2. Me vs Me

“Me vs Me” will go hard in a snoozy club.

“Me vs Me” has one of those booming club beats that will make you shake your dreads. If you don’t have dreads, go ahead and shake your upper lip. Over it, Lil Mosey raps about being his only competition, and that’s mainly because us mere mortals can’t afford the things he has or get the women he gets. While his laid-back tone might not be for everyone, I have to admit that his best flows on this album are on this track. Plus, the song is undeniably a banger.

1. By Yourself

Who knew Lil Mosey had a gentle side to him?

In “By Yourself,” Lil Mosey applauds a woman he’s interested in for being an independent go-getter who’s living life freely. At the same time, he believes he has the means and the charm to bring out her romantic side. He’s not pushy about it, though.

There are some things I like and don’t like about this track (I don’t hate or love anything). I like the infectious melodic raps Mosey delivers; it’s a sound I think he can excel with. I also appreciate that he’s unafraid to show off his gentle side and pays homage to independent women. However, his lyrics sound a bit elementary, and he does too much mumbling. Nonetheless, I think this track is a nice little bop.

Lil Mosey’s focus on maintaining a cool persona seems to limit his musical potential. This album could have been much stronger if he had a pulse.

In Love U Forever, Lil Mosey mainly raps about his wealth and enjoyment of women, though he keeps the lyrics relatively tame. Given that he faced a serious legal battle a few years ago, it would have been interesting to hear him explore his vulnerable side more. However, I understand if he chose not to delve into that topic.

From a production standpoint, you get a mix of modern trap and commercial hip-hop beats—the kind that jits love to rap over. Although the project can feel snoozy at times, Lil Mosey delivers a diverse range of flows and styles, from those you’d expect from Lil Baby to more melodic tracks. If Mosey just cranked up his “give a s**t” meter a bit, I’d consider his performances solid.

This project isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either. It’s just something that goes in one ear and out the other. For Lil Mosey to maintain his status as one of the best young rappers in the game, he’ll need to bring a bit more to the table.
