Queen Naija Says “Good Girls Finish Last”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Don’t bad girls also finish last?

Queen Naija is truly one of the most underrated R&B artists out there. While singers like SZA and Jhene Aiko have been pushing the boundaries with innovative sounds, Naija has consistently delivered heartfelt, timeless R&B tracks that feel deeply relatable. Though she’s been relatively quiet this year, the Detroit native is back on the scene with her latest single, “Good Girls Finish Last.”

In “Good Girls Finish Last,” Queen Naija says what many women think, but what many men don’t: Girls who try their hardest for their partners often end up on the losing side of a relationship. Throughout her verses, Naija reflects on everything she’s done for her partner, including wiping toilet seats and hoping things would change after they had a baby. The track, which is powered by a gentle guitar-driven instrumental, showcases her vocals in a way that conveys her feeling of defeat. At the end of the day, her vocals are undeniably gorgeous, so you’ll enjoy the song regardless.

Has Queen Naija ever been in a productive relationship? She’s the Cade Cunningham of dating.
