“PRESS PLAY” gives LISA another solo Billboard 200 appearance after “Alter Ego” reached No. 7.
PRESS PLAY has landed at No. 35 on the Billboard 200, earning LISA approximately 18,000 first-week album-equivalent units. It follows her solo debut album, Alter Ego, onto the chart.
That earlier release opened at No. 7 with 45,500 units in 2025. Traditional sales accounted for 28,000 of those units, enough to put Alter Ego atop the Top Album Sales chart. PRESS PLAY opens lower, but it’s also a six-track EP rather than another full-length album.
Our writer Emma found individual songs worth revisiting, but the full project didn’t connect with her in the same way. In her review, she noted that the tracks work better separately than as a cohesive collection.
“Tarantino” does the most for her. LISA’s chorus vocals are excellent, and the hints of rock add something exciting. Elsewhere, “Sweat” delivers immersive production, while “Cut U Off” benefits from its vocal effects and dynamic choices.
Though this project feels more like an appetizer than a full entrée, it should get LISA fans excited about her 2027.
