A calming end to a very hectic summer!
For better or for worse (depending on who you are), summer is coming to an end, and we are preparing to welcome autumn on September 22nd. But before those grills are flared down and the swimsuits are traded in for warmer wares, English singer Florrie returns with “Swimming Pool,” a new single released at the end of August.
The song itself is delightfully summery, with the instrumentals having a very playful vibe and Florrie’s vocals being calm and carefree. The music video is quite simple, featuring Florrie swimming and splashing around in a pool, with some really cool effects towards the last third. Editor Archie Campbell did an amazing job here.
Florrie mentioned that writing this song was a very freeing process and hopes that it becomes a go-to track for people “when they want that lazy summer feeling of hanging out in the park or by the pool, or reminiscing about those carefree summers gone by.” Honestly, I think she did a perfect job capturing those feelings.
Goodbye summer, I’ll see you next year.
