I’m one of those people who believe Lil Uzi Vert is one of the biggest driving forces in the hip-hop game. Whatever they feel is cool or worth experimenting with in the genre, we should all take notice. Uzi, who averages 31 million monthly listeners on Spotify, has been making a few guest appearances lately. However, from a solo standpoint, they haven’t dropped anything in 2024—until now. Overnight, while you were fast asleep and your eye boogers were forming, the Pennsylvania rapper surprised everyone by releasing “Uzi the Earthling! (The TV Theme).”
So, all this time, I actually thought Lil Uzi Vert wasn’t from this planet; now you’re telling me they’re an earthling? In “Uzi the Earthling! (The TV Theme),” a track that’s a mere 29 seconds long with a ‘60s vibe and doesn’t feature Uzi themselves, some lady explains exactly who they are and what their purpose on Earth is. I’m not going to lie: this is one of the strangest releases ever. It feels like Uzi watched an episode of The Flintstones, heard the theme song, and thought, “I want that for me.”
