Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” makes history with a 26th week at No. 1, while Tate McRae holds at No. 2.
5. Tame Impala & JENNIE – “Dracula”
Tame Impala and JENNIE climb three positions to No. 5 with “Dracula,” matching its previous peak. The track has now spent 57 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, including six weeks at No. 5.
More than a year on the chart, and “Dracula” keeps returning to the top five. Apparently, the vampire theme came with unlimited chart lives. Let’s see how it does outside of October.
4. Morgan Wallen – “Been By Now”
Morgan Wallen rises three positions to No. 4 with “Been By Now.” The single has spent 14 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and previously reached No. 2.
Morgan returns to the top five alongside fellow country stars Ella Langley and Stella Lefty. The competition near the summit remains tough, but he keeps positioning himself. The good news is that country has enough representation up here to request its own parking section.
3. Stella Lefty – “Boston”
Stella Lefty jumps three positions to No. 3 with “Boston.” The song has now spent 30 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, after previously peaking at No. 2 for six weeks.
Thirty weeks in, and Stella is still within reach of her best placement. Only Ella Langley and Tate McRae stand ahead of her this week. I’m still rooting for “Boston” to reach No. 1, although getting past Ella currently looks like a task taller than Baron Trump.
2. Tate McRae – “Housewife”
Tate McRae holds steady at No. 2 with “Housewife,” spending a second week at its peak. The track has spent both weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 as the runner-up.
That’s an impressive start, even if Ella is making the final step look especially difficult. Tate has arrived right near the summit and stayed there. Now the question is whether “Housewife” can turn that immediate momentum into a run at the crown.
1. Ella Langley – “Choosin’ Texas”
Ella Langley remains at No. 1 with “Choosin’ Texas,” securing a record-extending 26th week atop the Billboard Hot 100. The song has now spent 54 weeks on the chart.
With this latest victory, “Choosin’ Texas” becomes the first song in Hot 100 history to spend half a year at No. 1.
Half. A. Year. If that’s not dominance, I don’t know what is.
