Saweetie Drops Holiday-Inspired “I Want You This Christmas” & Dear Santa”

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Who has Saweetie wrapped up under their tree?

It’s officially the holiday season! Time to dust off your wallet, put on your best fake smiles, and set up those Christmas trees. And yes, get ready to hear a mix of Christmas tunes. While Mariah Carey often reigns supreme this time of year, other artists are also joining in on the festive releases. Saweetie is the latest to drop holiday-inspired music with her new two-song project Dear Big Santa, released this past Friday.

“I Want You For Christmas” rides on a gentle, upbeat rhythm with an altered sample that adds a charming touch. Saweetie switches between a seductive tone, Ludacris-inspired flow, T.I.-inspired flow, and gentle vocals, sharing a story of meeting someone special she’d love to spend the holidays with. While it may not be groundbreaking, the track has an undeniable allure that makes it feel warm and festive.

“Big Santa” is powered by a beat with heavy bass and club-ready vibes, perfect for Saweetie’s confident energy. She raps about wanting a partner who can spoil her, delivering catchy, repetitive lines that suit her signature style. While the chorus is infectious, the track leans on generic lyrics. Nonetheless, it’s a fun track.

Whoever is managing Saweetie’s career is putting up hall-of-fame numbers.
