Rating: 2.5 out of 5.Mike Posner is a lot more positive in “Beautiful Day.”
Mike Posner is a name that resonates in pop music history. From his 2009 breakthrough hit, “Cooler Than Me,” to the heartfelt 2010 single “Please Don’t Go,” and the 2016 smash “I Took A Pill In Ibiza,” the Detroit-born singer-songwriter, rapper, and producer has left a lasting mark on the industry. Since beginning his career in the late 2000s, Posner has not only released his own music but has also written songs for other artists, showcasing his versatility and influence in the pop scene.
Mike Posner’s first release of 2024 is the single “Beautiful Day,” which came out on October 18th, accompanied by both acoustic and instrumental versions. On November 22nd, he followed up with Beautiful Day (Healing House Version). In a significant shift from his previous work, this track embodies a sense of hope and gratitude, reflecting Posner’s journey of emotional healing and his newfound ability to love himself.
“Beautiful Day” is a refreshing addition to Mike Posner’s discography. While I appreciate the track, it isn’t likely to become one of my favorites or a song I’ll revisit often after this review. Sonically, it doesn’t stray too far from Posner’s typical style, which isn’t necessarily a drawback. It does feature a slightly brighter sound that aligns with its uplifting and lighthearted lyrics. Overall, “Beautiful Day” is still worth a listen for fans and newcomers alike.
