Rating: 3 out of 5.Wiz Khalifa’s stoner records just don’t hit the same in 2024.
I’ll be honest: I’m not really checking for Wiz Khalifa’s music these days. While I think he’s improved as a rapper over the past few years, his recent singles haven’t struck a chord with me. Today, he dropped a new track titled “Hit It Once,” but so far, I don’t see it making an impact on my playlist either.
In “Hit It Once,” Wiz Khalifa doesn’t delve into themes of sex but instead sticks to his classic subject: smoking weed. The song highlights his love for creating thick smoke clouds and indulging in potent strains. What’s intriguing is the Rastafarian-inspired vibe Wiz adopts, channeling a sound reminiscent of Bob Marley. While the chill energy of the track is notable, its overall impact feels underwhelming, bordering on monotonous.
I’m not looking forward to Kush & Orange Juice 2.
