I’m so glad Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne decided to peace it up.
When it comes to the top 10 rappers of all time, Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar are unquestionably on my list. Lil Wayne dominated the late 2000s with a legendary run of mixtapes and jaw-dropping verses, while Kendrick Lamar has redefined the genre with a string of critically acclaimed albums throughout the late 2010s and early 2020s.
That said, it was disappointing to hear about the tension between the two regarding Kendrick’s upcoming Super Bowl performance. The rift seemingly started with Lil Wayne expressing frustration about being overlooked for the event, followed by Kendrick referencing his disappointment in a track titled “Wacced Out Murals.” However, it seems the feud has been resolved.
During a conversation with his friend Skip Bayless, Lil Wayne revealed that he recently spoke with Kendrick Lamar about the situation and confirmed that everything is now good between them. Wayne even mentioned that he encouraged Kendrick to “kill it” during his performance. This development is especially surprising, given rumors of a possible diss track from Wayne aimed at Kendrick.

I absolutely love this. Yes, I am a hip-hop fan who wants to see rappers go at each other’s neck every once in a while, but in a situation like this, where a rapper headlines a Super Bowl and someone feeling genuinely hurt that he felt snubbed by not being able to perform in his city, I think it’s dope that we can squash the situation and come together to celebrate this. I also think it might indicate that Kendrick might bring out Wayne at the Super Bowl, as I’ve been saying this whole time. Hmm…
Do you think Kendrick Lamar will bring out Lil Wayne at the Super Bowl this year?
