Could we be getting “The Fall Off” this year?
J. Cole’s 2024 was a year of highs and lows. On the positive side, the release of Might Delete Later earned him a Grammy nomination, reaffirming his place as a dominant force in the rap game. However, his public feud with Kendrick Lamar took a toll, especially after a diss track failed to resonate as intended, leading to an apology and some momentary embarrassment. Despite this setback, J. Cole’s resilience and unmatched work ethic signal that he’s ready to make a comeback in 2025.
In a surprising move, the rapper took to the internet yesterday with a nostalgic blog post. Reflecting on turning 40, J. Cole expressed gratitude for the career he’s built and shared his excitement for what’s next. The highlight? He teased new music on the horizon, hinting that 2025 will be a standout year. “2025 will be a good one. We said that we was gon make it as a kid, and we finally did, but…”—leaving fans eagerly anticipating what’s next.

If you’re a J. Cole fan, like the rest of us, this news has to have you buzzing. Cole has been teasing the idea of retiring for years now—and honestly, can you blame him? The rap game feels like a whole new world compared to when he first came in. I’ll admit, I was convinced The Fall Off might actually be his final project. But after reading this blog post (and with the possibility of more to come), it seems like he might have a longevity run left in him—a LeBron-style stretch to cement his legacy even further. That’s great news because before he hangs it up, I’m going to need Cole to dunk on a few more people one last time.
What do you look forward to for J. Cole’s next album? I say an album with zero features. Let us know in the comments section, though.
