Saba Returns with “Woes of The World,”Showcasing His Versatility and Sharp Lyricism

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Saba and No I.D. cooked here.

Saba is every bit as talented as the biggest names in hip-hop—including Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and Luh Tyler. What sets the Chicago rapper apart is his ability to seamlessly switch between razor-sharp lyricism and infectious melodies, all while maintaining an exceptional ear for production—an underrated skill in today’s rap game. However, if there’s one downside, it’s that he doesn’t release music often enough. His last album, Few Good Things, dropped in 2022 and flew under the radar. Now, Saba is finally back with a brand-new single, “Woes of The World,” featuring production from legendary producer No I.D.

Saba does a little bit of everything on “Woes of The World.” Over a hypnotic, mind-numbing beat designed to make heads spin, he shifts between a numb, laid-back rap flow, a Drake-like melodic delivery, and an aggressive, competitive tone that showcases his hunger. Lyrically, he’s as sharp as ever—coming across as resilient, self-reflective, and determined to make the right moves on his journey. Ultimately, the track serves as a compelling update on Saba’s current mindset and proves he’s still one of the most dynamic artists in the game.
